YOUTH TEAMS
18.04.10
Our youngsters have enjoyed a successful time during the past week. Gavin and Junior's Under 18s defeated Orpington 6-2 away on Sunday in the semi-finals of the Onetwenty2 Cup (their League Cup competition). Roy Odiaka (4) and Nyren Clunis (2) netted the goals. They will now meet Chatham Town in the final, which will be played on Tuesday 4th May, at Lordswood FC, kick-off 7.30pm (not the day before, as mentioned in last Tuesday's programme). Chatham beat Dover Athletic 3-0 away in the other semi-final and will present tough opposition as they are still unbeaten in the league. On Thursday, our lads won again, this time 2-1 away to Corinthian FC in the third round of the John Ullmann Cup. Nyren Clunis and Carl Konadu were our scorers.
Meanwhile, Ian Neal's Under 18s have also won through to the last eight of the John Ullmann Cup, beating Dartford 2-0 at Champion Hill the Thursday before last. Olly Bell and Daniel Craig were the scorers but we left it late, both goals coming in the last three minutes of the game. On Sunday, the team won 3-1 away at West Wickham in a Kent Youth League (North Division) fixture. Tyrell Bennett, Tom Pedrotti and Hulusi Mustafa netted our goals.
