THIS AFTERNOON'S MATCH PREVIEW - WALTON & HERSHAM (AWAY) KO 3.00 PM

24.04.10

The season finale is finally here, one last charge by Rose's men before the end of another season, as Walton & Hersham await at Stompond Lane in opposition to the Hamlet's last efforts before the summer break.

With their hopes of a play off spot crumbling into a top ten finish in recent weeks, Walton & Hersham are enduring a miserable slump in the final run of the campaign, winning only twice in ten games. However, during that run they've only failed to score in three of those games, implying that the threat from Martin Grant and the rest of the Swans forward line very much remains.

John Crumplin's side still holds some classy talent, highly rated 'keeper Delroy Preddie, the aforementioned Grant and former Hampton & Richmond full back Graham Harper all continue to impress, while the Swans hopes of promotion have dissolved in over the past weeks.

A repeat performance of their last encounters with The Sham is certainly the last thing the Pink 'n' Blues will hope for, having been destroyed by them on two previous occasions this season, 3-0 at home and 2-1 away in the League Cup.

Perhaps a last gasp scramble for the Hamlet to get 12th place could be in offing, should they win and others slip up it would mean they'd equal Craig Edwards effort's last season. Ramsgate would have to lose to division champions Croydon Athletic and Whytleleafe succumb to Horsham YMCA if Rose is able to achieve 12th position.

Indeed, Dulwich go into the game on a good run, being the only side in the division that are unbeaten in the league in April – Horsham YMCA and Chipstead the only sides able to get points off Rose's side.

Ellis Wilson-Joseph may be a doubt for the final game, as his suspension from the Horsham YMCA game may kick in - Alim Sesay and Gerry Gonnella are therefore expected to the midfield duties, although Junior Kadi may be called into the action should Rose adopt the 4-3-3 formation.
