CHANGES TO THE FOOTBALL COMMITTEE

04.07.10

At this year's AGM of the Dulwich Hamlet Football Committee, Vice Chairman, Brian Shears, announced that he would not be seeking re-election to the committee due to personal reasons. It was with much regret that this decision was accepted by the committee who acknowledged the immense contribution of Brian in over a decade of unstinting service to Dulwich Hamlet Football Club. Brian's role was recognised by Chairman, Jack Payne, who stated that he could not speak highly enough of his contribution to Dulwich Hamlet Football Club and to the committee, stressing his immense gratitude to Brian for all his hard work and dedication over many years. His thanks were echoed by all members of the committee present.

Though Brian is standing down as Vice Chairman he will continue to play an active role in Dulwich Hamlet as chief factotum of the Dulwich Hamlet Vice Presidents Club, brining together former players and officials of the club.

At the same meeting, John Leahy stepped down as Honorary Secretary due to reasons of health. Jack thanked Primo for all his hard work in a difficult position and highlighted his contribution to the club, stating that he had done a terrific job for a number of years. However, John will be remaining on the committee after he was unanimously elected to the position of Vice Chairman.

Rejoining the committee after a number of years away, though not very far away, is former Chairman Martin Eede who has resigned from his position with our lodgers, Fisher, to take on the role of Chief Executive. This position will encompass a variety of roles within the organisation of the Football Club including all tasks previously covered by the Honorary Secretary and the Match Day Secretary. We would like to welcome Martin back on board and wish him every success in his new role.

As always Dulwich Hamlet Football Club would welcome approaches from individuals with the time and talents to devote to our club, your skills off the field can contribute to Gavin, Junior and the players' future on it. Whether you have served on the committee before or are a novice in this field, the club would love to hear from you. Contact Jack Payne on 07956 554 590 or see him in the boardroom at any home game. Many thanks!
