FA DRAWS OUT
08.07.10
After a brief hiccup, the FA Competitions draws were announced to a waiting world this morning that had been holding its breath since Monday morning when it was announced that the draws would be put on hold whilst the outcome of Grays appeal against their exclusion from the Ryman League was heard.
In the FA Cup Dulwich Hamlet enter the competition on Saturday 28th August at the Preliminary Round stage when they will travel to the winners of the extra preliminary round tie between Mile Oak of the Sussex County League and Tunbridge Wells of Safety Net Kent Football League. Awaiting the winners will be Carshalton Athletic of the Ryman Premier, a tempting prospect in particular for the likes of Junior Kadi and Phil Wilson who could be returning to their old club. That tie would take place on Saturday 11th September.
In the FA Trophy Dulwich Hamlet do not enter the competition until the First Qualifying Round on Saturday 16th October when they play host to Premier Division outfit Hastings United.
Meanwhile in the FA Youth Cup, this year's crop of youngsters will be hoping to emulate last season's excellent run when they open their campaign with a home tie against Croydon Athletic, that game scheduled for the week commencing 6th September. The winners of that tie travel to the junior coppers in the first qualifying round; Metropolitan Police away w/c 20th September.
