THIS EVENING'S MATCH PREVIEW – THAMESMEAD TOWN (AWAY) KO 7.45 PM

27.07.10

A promising performance against one of Kent's finest on Saturday will provide Gavin Rose's side with encouragement as they go into their 3rd pre-season friendly tonight against Thamesmead Town.

Town have got off to a winning start after being Whitstable 2-1 on Saturday, former Hamlet striker Alex Tiesse getting both the goals either side of half time. Lewis Tozer and Danny Moore complete the ex-Dulwich trio at the 'Mead but both missed the game against Whitstable, along with big summer signing Bradley Spice, who's joined following many goal-scoring heroics at Sittingbourne and Dover Athletic.

With the unavailability of some of the first team players as mentioned above, Thamesmead manager Keith McMahon has been forced to blood some of the youngsters coming through the ranks at Bayliss Avenue, meaning both Ben Wilson and Alfie Munday may find themselves up against the Hamlet tonight.

The £4 million development of Bayliss Avenue is beginning to materialise, with new facilities popping up fairly rapidly. Of course, with such great investment going into the club many suspect there is great pressure on manager McMahon to produce a stunning season in the Ryman North division and get the club promoted to the Premier. With a fairly strong squad at his disposal, including the likes of Tozer and Spice, Thamesmead's board may feel that this is a great chance to take their club further up the non-league pyramid. McMahon remains adamant though, that there is no pressure on him to produce such heroics – only time and results will prove if he is correct.

Dulwich meanwhile are likely to start with a similar unit that faced Dover. Dave King appears to be the new addition between the sticks and Luke Hickie seems to have come back to the Rose Regime following his time at Kingstonian.

Kick off tonight is at 7.45 pm at Bayliss Avenue.
