REPORT | Dulwich Hamlet vs Folkestone Invicta | 11/02/25

REPORT | Dulwich Hamlet vs Folkestone Invicta | 11/02/25

The Hamlet men moved further away from the drop zone on Saturday afternoon after a 3-0 victory over Bowers & Pitsea. On Tuesday night we welcomed in form Folkestone Invicta to Champion Hill with the opportunity to move in further away from the drop zone.

It took 25 minutes for the game to be flung into life as the Hamlet were awarded a penalty as Max Hudson was hacked down inside the penalty area. David Bremang stepped up following his brace on Saturday but saw his low penalty saved by Jonathan Henly in the Invicta goal. Henly got up quick to deny Bremang on the rebound before then denying Max Hudson.

Just minutes later and the Hamlet would have a deserved lead as Amaru Kaunda would secure his 1st goal in Hamlet colours. The Cambridge United loanee followed in a rebounded strike firing the Hamlet ahead.

5 minutes before the break Dillon Barnes would be called into action after Folkestone whipped in a delicious freekick which Barnes managed to scramble on.

Kaunda would almost have his 2nd of the night with an effort from distance that went just wide.

Max Hudson would continue his fine run of form and almost have a goal to his name just before half time. His free kick looped towards the back post and struck the woodwork before being cleared away by the Folkestone defence.

12 minutes into the 2nd half and the Hamlet would finally have their 2nd. Max Hudson picked out veteran striker Danny Mills with a delicious long ball which he bought down before firing past Henly at his near post.

Amaru would almost have our 3rd as he latched on to a deflected strike but was caught offside.

Folkestone would begin to pile on the pressure and would eventually find a breakthrough on the stroke of full-time as Dean Rance broke through to strike passed Barnes.

The Hamlet would see the game out and pick up their 3rd win in a row in all competitions putting themselves 6 points clear of the bottom 4 ahead of this weekends crunch clash with Hastings United at Pilot Field.
