CLUB STATEMENT | Hashtag United | 28/10/24
The club would like to thank the supporters and staff who witnessed and heard the homophobic behaviour from some our visitors at the end of the men’s game against Hashtag United on Saturday.
Their quick action allowed us to identify those involved and report the incidents to the Hashtag representatives while they were still in the ground which will aid them in their inquiry. The club has offered our support to Hashtag and will provide them with any assistance they need and participate in any follow ups.
We would like to use this opportunity to repeat our equality, diversity and inclusivity commitment which includes a zero tolerance policy towards any abuse on the basis of age, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, marital status, race, nationality, ethnic origin, colour, religion or belief, ability or disability.
We have worked hard to ensure Champion Hill is a place where everyone can feel safe and have the confidence to report any behaviour knowing that it will be acted on swiftly.
If you have been affected by these events or have any additional information please feel free to contact the club and should you ever have cause to report any incidents in future please find a member of staff or the security team and they will relay the complaint to our team responsible for dealing with these incidents.
