Update from the Board
We are excited to announce some changes to our board as we move to a new way of running the club that we believe will set us up for success in the future both on and off the pitch.
Mel Hughes came to the end of her term as one of the two Supporters' Trust nominated directors in December but we are pleased that Mel will continue as a director of the club in an independent capacity after an enormously successful first couple of seasons as our General Manager.
Taking Mel's place representing the Supporters' Trust is Nick Igoe and we look forward to learning from his extensive experience in the game as he joins our board as a new director and he is a testament to the efforts of the Trust to bring people into the club.
Returning to a director position after a six-year gap is our company secretary Liam Hickey who already attends board meetings in that capacity but we will now be benefit from his deep knowledge of our club and business experience as a full participant in those meetings.
Finally I am happy to confirm that while we had to say goodbye to our women's team captain Brit Saylor on the pitch after her retirement her association with the club will continue as she has accepted the invitation to join the board as a director. We've still got Captain Brittany Saylor!
All three of our new appointments have the balance we have been looking for of loving and understanding our club but also having successful track records away from the club with skills and experience that can only challenge and improve the way we operate.
We are now in the process of evolving the way we manage each area of our club so we can move faster and progress some of the ideas and projects that we have not had the time or the people to resource and look forward to sharing those updates with you all but in the meantime I hope you will join us in welcoming our new board members.
