2023-24 London Senior Cup Begins At Erith Town

2023-24 London Senior Cup Begins At Erith Town

The draw for this year's 2023-24 London Senior Cup has been made, with the Hamlet travelling to Step 5 Erith Town in Round One.

The Dockers are members of the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division, being part of this division or predecessors since promotion to the Premier Division in 1998. Last season saw Erith finish fourth in the league, their highest position since 2013-14. They also had their best run in the FA Vase, reaching the last-32 of the competition before losing on penalties at Bridgwater United following a 0-0 draw.

This will be the first meeting between the two sides since meeting in the same competition in the autumn of 2012. In front of just 69 people at Champion Hill, the Hamlet coasted to a 5-0 victory, with Erhun Öztümer netting a brace, along with further goals from Taylor Thomas, Xavier Vidal and Danny Carr.

Last season they suffered an early exit in the competition, losing at Hendon in Round One by four goals to two.

Once the end of the season comes around, Dulwich will have been without a title in this competition in 20 years, with the club's fifth success coming against Tooting & Mitcham United at Hendon in 2004, when two Omari Coleman goals sealed the trophy. We have also won the trophy in 1925, 1939, 1950 and 1984. We have also been losing finalists in 1906, 1908, 1921, 1928, 1943 and 2002.

The winners of the tie will be at home in Round Two, and will play the winners of Sporting Bengal United vs AFC Wimbledon. Were the Hamlet to reach the final, they would face an away game in the quarter-finals, and a home game in the semi-finals.

Our clash with Erith Town must be played by the week commencing October 30th, we will announce more details when they have been finalised.
