REPORT | Cheshunt vs Dulwich Hamlet | Isthmian League | 15/3/25

A late penalty from Vas Vasiliou was enough to split Cheshunt and Dulwich Hamlet as the visitors take a last-gasp 1-0 win at Champion Hill.

Dulwich Hamlet looked the likeliest to break the deadlock throughout the game, however a handball in the 90th minute in the Dulwich Hamlet box gave Cheshunt the opportunity to snatch the winner, which they took with open arms.

It was a lively affair, with both teams starting well.

Dulwich had most of the chances in the first half, with Amaru Kaunda and David Bremanghaving two close headers in close proximately in the first half.

Into the second half and Dulwich were awarded a penalty in the 48th minute, which Bremangtook, however former Dulwich goalkeeper R’avan Constable went the right way and saved the penalty.

A moment before the penalty was taken Constable went over to the Cheshunt coaching staff, who offered their advice on where Bremang was going, and their advice was spot on.

The penalty made the second half a scrappy 45 minutes, with both sides having a number ofhalf chances, before a late penalty went in the way of Cheshunt.

It was heartbreak for Dulwich Hamlet, who over the 90 minutes had the better of the opportunities, before having the points ripped away from them.

Vasiliou coolly slotted his penalty home, going to the Dillon Barnes’ right, who went the wrong way.
