REPORT | Dulwich Hamlet vs Carshalton Athletic

The Hamlet kicked off the festive season with a huge victory over Carshalton Athletic in front of 2883 supporters at Champion Hill.

On an overcast afternoon the Hamlet took on a Carshalton side unbeaten in 11 matches. The Hamlet on the other hand hadn't won since they defeated Potters Bar Town on November 9th.

It took just five minutes for this game to be fired into life. The visitors unleashed a strike from range but Dillon Barnes got down to deny them with relative ease.

Five minutes later and it was the Hamlet who would be celebrating. Kreshnic Krasniqi who met a corner and fired his header home to put the Hamlet ahead.

Seven minutes later and Dillon Barnes would be called into action again this time to deny the visitors from a freekick. The strike took a deflection off of the wall and left Barnes scrambling to acrobatically tip the shot over the bar.

The next 20 minutes or so were relatively quiet with neither side creating any major chances. Hassan Ibrahiym almost had the Hamlet 2 ahead but his curling effort went wide of the post.

The Hamlet would almost be 2 ahead after 3 minutes of the 2nd half Carshalton tried to play out from the back but played a pass straight into the path of Anthony Jeffrey who squared it to Luke Wanadio but he couldn't get the shot away.

Carshalton went close after 55 minutes with a quick counter attack but they fired a shot at the back post over.

A change in Hamlet formation for this one meant that the Hamlet thwarted most of their attacks resulting in the Robins taking shots from range.

Despite late pressure from the Robins which included an offside strike against the woodwork the Hamlet would secure a relatively comfortable victory to kick-off a busy run of fixtures before heading to take on Whitehawk on Saturday.
