Young Talent Kaya Signs After Impressive Summer
After an impressive summer on trial, Kaya Hansson has been added to the squad by manager Hakan Hayrettin.
The duo know each other extremely well, as Kaya is Hakan's son, and the 17-year-old joins having been with Bromley last season.
Kaya appeared in eight of our nine pre-season games, mainly playing behind the front three, and arrives following a successful season for the Bromley Whites U19s. Last season, he played in 19 of their 24 games in Division E of the National League U19s Alliance, scoring five goals.
Prior to going Bromley, Kaya was with Cheshunt, and as a 15-year-old was invited to train with the Maidstone United first team whilst Hakan was manager there.
"I'm pleased to be part of the squad," said Kaya, "it's been exciting training with everyone this summer and I'm always learning."
"I'm looking forward to the opportunity to play men's football and improve on my game. The boys have been very welcoming and have given me lots of advice and tried to help me out, they are all good guys."
"Being young, it will be a challenge to break into the starting XI but I can only get better by training with them. I can play either as an attacking midfielder or out wide, looking to create chances as much as I can for the team."
"I have seen what the fans are like and they give loud support, even in pre-season they have been unreal and I can't wait to play in front of them this season."
"Knowing him on a personal level, I always knew he had the ability," added Hakan, "but it was seeing if he could make that transition from academy to senior football."
"In the games this summer, he's done really well, and he deserves a chance. He worked hard in the academy at Bromley and he hasn't looked out of place with us. We will utilise him when we need him, he's a great kid, he's bright, he's got enthusiasm and love for the game with good feet, but most importantly, again he wants to be here."
"I'm sure he will be an asset, and at 17, he will only get better, the future is bright for him. If we play a 4-3-3 this season, he can play behind the attackers or anywhere across the front three."
