Eastbourne Town 1 - 1 Dulwich Hamlet
Dulwich Hamlet shared the spoils with Eastbourne Town on a sweltering Sunday afternoon.
Coming off the back of a 2-1 win against Aylesford last weekend, Dulwich were hoping to maintain their winning start to the new season and dominated the early proceedings. To their credit, Eastbourne defended well and the Hamlet were unable to find the net in the first half.
Dulwich broke the deadlock after the break and Lucy Monkman marked her return to the side with an excellent finish through the Eastbourne goalkeeper's legs, after getting on the end of a well-placed cross.
However, shortly after the score was level again and Eastbourne got lucky with a fluke equaliser. Kate Aldridge's kick ricocheted into an Eastbourne player and deflected into the net, making it 1-1.
Dulwich have their FA Cup match next weekend, as they travel to Aylesford on Sunday 1st September for a 2pm kick off in the Preliminary Round of the nationwide competition.
