PREVIEW: Dulwich Hamlet vs Enfield Town | 130424
We are hoping for a record breaking crowds on Sunday afternoon as Dulwich Hamlet take on Enfield Town in the last home game of the season.
The Hamlet are three points clear at the top of the League with three games to go. A win will increase our prospects of winning the title considerably.
This game marks Captain Brit Saylor's last home game run out in pink and blue after clocking up 102 games for the team and becoming a firm favourite of both fans and players. This afternoon we will be paying tribute to Brit in some imaginative ways!
We are also celebrating Amnesty International's 'Football Welcomes Refugees' Campaign. Players will be wearing t-shirts before the game and a group of refugees have been welcomed to our men's game against Cray Wanderers on Saturday 27th April. Tim Lezard from Gloucestershire Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers (GARAS) has written an article in this week's programme with more information about this group and what we are doing to welcome them.
Enfield Town have had a mixed bag of results recently. Their last game saw them lose at home 4-5 to Ebbsfleet United, previously they have won 2-0 away to Ashford United and drew 1-1 away to Sutton United.
Dulwich last played Enfield Town in October 2023 and won the match 4-1 at the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium with goals scored by Summer Roberts (x2), Brit Saylor and Shakira Kafero-Roberts.
Enfield's top scorers this season are Beth Lloyd (14), Leah Littlechild (7) and Mia Obeng (7).
Elsewhere in the League, title rivals Dartford take on bottom-of-the-league AFC Crawley which may give them the opportunity to improve their goal difference and then have a tricky encounter at home to Ebbsfleet United on Wednesday which is worth looking out for. It is worth pointing out we also have an away fixture against AFC Crawley on the 28th April. Fulham FC do not have a fixture this weekend and are back in action next weekend away to Enfield Town.
Back to our game against Enfield, the outside bar will be open again alongside the usual food outlets and there will be DJs in the bar afterwards to see our home season out in our customary style. There will be a Brit Retirement Special Programme on sale from the usual places for £2.50.
This is set to be a cracking sunny afternoon of the best value Sunday afternoon entertainment you will find in South London so it would be great to see you at the Hill. Tickets can be bought here. This one is not to be missed!
If you cannot attend the game Lindsay Margaroli will be bringing you commentary on our Live Radio page or you can follow on our Twitter account.
In the meantime you can take a read of Vincent Raison's Substack post about his visit to see our game against Dorking Wanderers last weekend.
