REPORT | Enfield Town vs Dulwich Hamlet | Capital Women's Cup | 16/11/25
An emphatic win with a depleted squad sealed Dulwich’s spot in the last four of the Capital Women’s Cup, setting up a mouth watering tie against Tottenham Hotspur at home.
Dulwich dominated the game throughout, showing their class against a very physical Enfield side.
Dulwich opened the scoring in the 8th minute, through Tash Stephens, a delightful chipped effort from outside the box, nestling nicely into the top left corner.
The Hamlet were then made to sweat 10 minutes later, as Enfield equalised with their first opportunity of the game, scoring directly from the corner, also known as an ‘Olympico’.
This didn’t faze Dulwich however, who quickly responded through Tia Searle, unlucky at first to hit the post when through on goal, but followed up her shot well, restoring the lead with a simple tap-in.
After the break, Dulwich continued their relentless pressure, and were soon rewarded in the 68th minute, when captain Asia Harbour-Brown headed in emphatically from an inch-perfect Lily Price corner, putting the hosts out of reach.
Off the pitch this week, Dulwich were hit hard by many injuries and illnesses, resulting in only 13 players making the squad for Sunday’s win.
Manager Ryan Dempsey was full of praise for his side after a tricky 7 days, saying ‘the players rebounded back and performed really well today’. ’Injuries and illness has really taken its toll on the players, but the 13 involved today were superb’.
The semi-final clash is expected to take place on Easter Sunday at Champion Hill, and your support will be crucial as ever as we aim to end our season on a high with some silverware!
