Ex-Millwall forward adds even more pace to Ryan's strike force!

Ahead of our fixture with Millwall Lionesses, Ryan Dempsey has added some more attacking power to his squad in the form of former Millwall player Angel Reid.

The forward, who can play on either flank, has been training with the Hamlet this week, and when asked about whether she wanted to sign for the side, she returned to Ryan within ten minutes to give a decisive yes!

The 18-year-old was a key part of the Millwall squad last season, scoring six times in 24 appearances for the Lionesses, including a memorable goal in their 6-2 win over the Hamlet at Champion Hill in September 2022. She would also play a key role on the left-wing in their win against us at the New Den in May.

Prior to playing for Millwall, Angel was a teammate of Shakira Kafero-Roberts at Haringey Borough, scoring five goals in 21 games between 2021 and 2022 before heading south of the river.

"I'm very pleased to be here!" said Angel, "I want to make a good start, get some minutes in, score some goals and grab some assists!"

"I think I am well-know for my pace, I have good agility and can change direction quickly, but I am also a team player and I love setting up my teammates! And I will track back and work hard too!"

"Training has been very enjoyable, the girls have been lovely and very welcoming, after the first session they were asking me if I had signed yet!"

"She's another exciting player and one we've been monitoring since last season," added Ryan. "She was one of the best players in the league in my point of view last year, having had a firsthand experience of her playing well against us in both games!"

"She fits the right profile in terms of age and ability. When she's at the top of her game she can go one-vs-one on players, she can beat players on the inside and outside, technically she is excellent, she works hard, and is lightning quick as well."
