REPORT | Dulwich Hamlet vs Hashtag United | 23/11/24
Goals from Sak Hassan and Josh Osude gave Hashtag United a 2-0 victory against Dulwich Hamlet lifting themselves out of the relegation zone in the process.
In testing conditions, both sides struggled to string passes together but it was the away side who adapted quicker, and in the 15th minute United took the lead.
Toby Aromolaran found space in the box but his effort was blocked, he gathered the rebound and centred across goal. Sean Bonnett-Johnson stretched out a foot to clear, but instead deflected the ball across the goal, wrong-footing Horlick in the process, and Hassan was on hand to finish from close range.
Seven minutes later it should’ve been 2-0, only a great reflex save from Jameson Horlick denied Nathan Smith. The ex-Hamlet man must've thought he'd scored when he shot from eight yards out with the goal gaping. Somehow Horlick got across his line and saved with his right foot.
It took us until the 41st minute for us to have a shot on goal, with Ryley's Scott 18-yard strike saved easily by Jack Giddens.
Horlick against Hashtag would prove to be the theme of the game, in the 54th minute Aromolaran was sent clean through, he dinked the keeper but Horlick saved with his face to keep the lead down to just one.
The away side continued to knock on the door and in the 88th minute, they sealed the victory. Josh Osude, on for Aromolaran, was played clean through by Matt Wooldridge and the striker slipped the ball under Horlick as the keeper rushed out to close the angle.
The Hamlet are in London Senior Cup action on Tuesday night as we host Leyton Orient. Tickets are just £5 and can be purchased here.
