This was a big game. Dorking Wanderers would be a tough nut to crack but Dulwich cracked it with a 2-1 win which left them three points clear at the top of the table courtesy of Fulham beating Dartford 4-0 at Craven Cottage.
It was a tall order for Dulwich after their gruelling encounter with Fulham four days earlier so full credit to Fulham for pulling that result off.
Summer Roberts got off to a strong start with two chances to score within the first 15 minutes. The first when she misguided her header wide of the goal and the second came with a chance on goal as she waved passed a number of players in the penalty area but managed to hit her effort wide past the bottom left corner.
Lily Price got in on the action as she was awarded a free kick in the 26th minute but shot just wide before minutes later Roberts found herself in front of the goal following a long ball over the top but was beaten to the ball by the keeper.
The first game of the goal came in the 39th minute as Shakira Kafero Roberts did well to win the ball from a Dorking defender on the edge of the penalty area, who then passed it to Angel Reid who slotted it into the back of the net which led to a half time score of 1-0 to Dulwich.
The second half started with a number of chances for Roberts before she finally got her goal in the 66th minute courtesy of a great pass from Phoebe Reed.
The second half was more favourable for Dorking as Dulwich were clearly flagging after the previous game and Dorking pulled a goal back courtesy of Megan Stow following a brilliant free kick.
For the remainder of the game Dulwich were under pressure from Dorking who had several chances to equalise but Dulwich managed to hold the fort until the full time whistle blew and gained three valuable points.
After the game fans piled into the bar and crowded in front of the TVs to watch the last half hour of the Fulham vs Dartford game which was being stream live on YouTube from Craven Cottage, but it was over by then. Fulham were 4-0 up.
Dulwich face Enfield on Sunday, AFC Crawley next weekend and Saltdean United in May. With a three-point cushion, a win this afternoon and a win at Crawley could all but mathematically hand Dulwich the League Title.

Dulwich Hamlet took one step closer to winning the league title on Wednesday night as they overcome their most potent rivals left to play in front of a near record crowd of 642.
The game started off lively with Dulwich having the best of a first half.
Asia Harbour Brown had the first chance of the game on 11 minutes when her header from a corner went just wide of the goal.
It took Dulwich 19 minutes to get their first goal. A long range free kick by Lily Price went through the Fulham defence, past the keeper and into the back of the next
Moments later Martha Goddard darted down the left flank and into the penalty area and shot just wide.
Again Goddard showed her dominance on the wing and did well to weave past a few players to pass to Summer Roberts in the penalty area, who couldn't connect with the ball at the end
Further chances from Summer Roberts and Lily Price nearly ended in goals before Shakira Kafero-Roberts out wide, found Goddard who was composed enough in front of goal to score just before half time.
Fulham came out for the second half with a more fire in them and the second half was much more evenly matched with both teams having chances and Dulwich were kepts in the game by some superb saves by Dulwich keeper Saskia Reeves Priestly.
Fulham finally got their goal on the 87th minute when ex Dulwich player, Sophie Manzi put the ball in the back of the net which led to a tense last ten minutes as both teams battled it out to the end.
This win further strengthens Dulwich’s title ambitions. With only four games to play, Dulwich are now top of the league and Fulham are set to play Dartford FC at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon which both teams need to win to stay in the race. This is a game Fulham could quite easily win if they play as they did this evening.

One of the longest five minutes in history of DHFCW descended on Champion Hill after the final whistle blew on a 3-0 win against a much-improved Sutton United side.
Fan were frantically refreshing Twitter trying to find out the final score on the South Coast as Saltdean United led our title rivals Dartford FC 4-3. When the result was confirmed, a huge cheer went up around the ground and chants of ‘we are going up’ were belted out in the Toilet’s Opposite Stand.
Dulwich were now in control of the title race and are set to win the league if they win all their remaining games and retain their superior goal difference. Of course, there could be more upsets along the way.
Sutton were a different team to the one we played back in December when we won 6-0. Former referee Lucy Clark took over from Will Letts as Manager in January and has inserted some much-needed vigour into the team.
Dulwich’s first chance came after 6 minutes as Brit Saylor hit wide of the goal after a brilliant cross into the area followed by another chance a few minutes later as Martha Goddard took a long range shot that was saved by the keeper.
They opened their scoring account on the 25th minute as Lily Price placed an excellent forward pass from near the centre line to Angel Reid. Reid found herself sprinting forward with plenty of space and took it round the keeper to put into the back of the net.
Seven minutes later Erin Corrigan doubled the lead following a looping header over the keeper from a corner kick to make it two nil for Dulwich.
In the 37th minute Asia Harbour Brown almost made it three for the Hamlet as another corner kick from Lily Price found the defender who then put her header over the bar and then three minutes later, Brit Saylor had a goal disallowed for offside.
Hamlet were not finished with their scoring for this half as Erin Corrigan smashed a second goal into the back of the net from 25 yards out.
Shortly after the start of the second half Price and Corrigan both had chances before Jodie Lodge, Ceylon Hickman and Angel Read were subbed for Summer Roberts, Tia Searle and Minnie Crutwell.
The rest of the half played out with chances from Anna Jowle, Lily Price and Shakira Kafero-Roberts before the game was settled on a 3-0 win and a goalless second half.
Wednesday’s game against Fulham is vital. It is a must win in their quest to win the league. Whether you have been before or it is your first game, we would love to see you at the Hill

Dulwich Hamlet ran riot at Champion Hill after beating Aylesford FC 7-0 to keep their title hopes alive in front of a crowd of 503.
Dulwich came out strong and within 7 minutes Martha Goddard nearly opened the scoring after going one on one with the keeper and firing just wide.
Lily Price opened the scoring after 20 minutes as she coolly fired the ball into the left hand corner of the net from a penalty after Asia Harbour Brown was brought down in the penalty area following a clumsy challenge by an Aylesford defender.
A few minutes later Dulwich could have bagged another penalty after an alleged handball incident in the penalty area was called out by the Dulwich bench which was subsequently not given.
Anna Jowle scored her first goal of the season on 28 minutes after a pitch perfect pass from Shakira Kafero-Roberts and expertly slotted the ball into the bottom left corner.
On 38 minutes Goddard had a second attempt at scoring a goal after a quick counter-attack by Dulwich but again she fired wide.
Dulwich went into half time with a 3-0 lead, brimming with confidence after Angel Reid scored a goal deep into first half added time.
It only took Dulwich two minutes after the second half kicked off to get back into their goal scoring ways when Phoebe Read put two in two minutes into the back of the net.
The first came after Kafero-Roberts put the ball into the penalty area, found Read who then shot into the bottom corner. The second came under similar circumstances after the game had restarted after Dulwich quickly took the ball off Aylesford and sent it down to the Aylesford end.
On the 60th minute Goddard finally got her goal after taking a shot which the keeper nearly kept out after getting her hand to the ball.
Three minutes later Tia Searle got herself onto the score sheet shortly after coming off the subs bench and found herself in a one-on-one with the keeper before slotting her effort into the back of the net making it seven nil.
The rest of the game saw plenty of other chances from, Goddard, Corrigan and Read before Read put the ball in the back of the net again but her hattrick goal was ruled offside.
Dulwich next play Sutton United next Sunday 24th March when we will see the return of Lucy Clark who is now managing Sutton. Kick off 2pm.
Price 21' (PEN), Jowle '28, Reid 45' (+2), Read 48' 49', Goddard '60, T Searle '63
