In June 2024, over 80 Dulwich fans and friends marched through the centre of London with placards calling out Transphobia a fight that this football club continues to have on a daily basis. We had unique Dulwich shirts with a big rainbow going down the middle. When this football club does something, it does it properly. We aren’t scared of what others think or what the world will say about us. We do it because it is right.
Pride in London allowed us to go alongside some of the biggest football clubs in the world and stand in unison for equal rights for LGBTQ+ people. We stood shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and the former Champions of Europe West Ham. We marched with TRUK United and a bus full of drag queens, well we tried to until a small club from north London called Tottenham cut in with a little minivan!
Our football club gets it. Doesn’t it? We’ve created a space for people from all walks of life to stand and enjoy the sport they love. Football isn’t the most inclusive place, but in our small pink & blue corner of London we’ve made a stand against the norms and created an environment where people can thrive.
