A name on the front of a football shirt becomes a familiar thing. It appears in photographs, travels to away games and, with a bit of luck, ends up attached to some amazing memories. Bring on the FA Cup third qualifying round clash with Salisbury this weekend! We know the shirt means a lot to everyone at Dulwich Hamlet.

So, with The Other Songs now appearing across the front, it felt important to give you a proper introduction. They’re building a community around their company, much as we’ve built one around this club, and that’s a big part of why we connect with them. TOS (as they refer to themselves) is an independent music company founded by Alastair & Billy Webber, built on the core principle of protecting the people who write and make the music.

Whether they’re managing a songwriter’s music rights, developing artists’ careers or giving audiences a unique chance to hear the stories behind a favourite song at their Live event, their focus is on putting the song at the heart of everything. That commitment extends to investing in arts education and giving young people opportunities through music, something we’re pleased to welcome here at DHFC.

The best way to get to know a music company is to hear some music so they have created a new 'Matchday Soundtrack' playlist for us featuring artists from The Other Songs' roster alongside some familiar names. TOS covers a lot of ground working closely with artists and songwriters including Ren, Bruno Major and Liang Lawrence, as well as the catalogue of Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Ren’s story gives you a great sense of their long term commitment to artists.

The relationship began with an introduction in 2011, well before The Other Songs of today existed. He went on to perform at the TOS Live events, signed a publishing deal with them, then a record deal, and his debut album ‘Sick Boi’ went on to reach No.1 in the UK charts. As we also know with football the results mean more when there’s been a long journey of dedication and commitment behind them.

The Other Songs is passionate about how artists and songwriters are treated within the industry. TOS has committed to giving songwriters a share of the label’s recording income, on top of the royalties they would ordinarily receive for writing a song. For us, the company’s support for arts education is a key reason why this partnership feels right.

Through The Other Songs Live, including events at the London Palladium and KOKO, they have raised more than £600k for The BRIT School, Nordoff and Robbins and The Ivors Academy Trust.

These organisations help young people develop their creativity, support careers in songwriting and bring music therapy to people who need it.
