Remembering Duncan Chapman
This match is being sponsored by the Chapman family to mark the three years since Duncan Chapman passed away in October 2021.
We miss him very much, and when we think of him we often picture him at Dulwich Hamlet, enjoying the game and working behind the scenes, along with other committed supporters, to keep things going.
Duncan was passionate about politics as well as football, and would have been delighted with the election of the new Government.
He was very clear that politicians need to have complete integrity and I am sure he would have well understood Keir Starmer’s stance on attending Arsenal’s games.
Duncan was very concerned about the state of governance of football and welcomed plans for an independent football regulator to provide greater protection for club heritage.
Fortunately these plans are being taken forward by the new Government. More than anything, though, Duncan would have wanted us to enjoy today’s game.
October at Champion Hill
It's a busy October for the Hamlet with 5 games coming up at Champion Hill this month.
On Sunday our women return to league action as they host Actonians at 14:00. With the Hamlet looking to bounce back from 2 disappointing results against Chatham Town and Moneyfields. Tickets for the game with Actonians are available here.
After that it's the men's turn to return home. In the 1st of 3 home games in a week as they host Hastings United in the Isthmian League on Saturday 12th October. The Hamlet will be aiming to maintain their promotion push. Tickets for that game kicking off at 15:00 are available from Fanbase here.
After Hastings we begin our Velocity Cup campaign against Step 4 Binfield. They visit Champion Hill under the floodlights on Tuesday 15th October with kick-off at 19:45. Ticket details are still being finalised and we'll announce arrangements in the coming days.
On Saturday 19th October we welcome old rivals Billericay Town to Champion Hill in our final league game of the month. The Essex side will be looking to continue their fine form that has them sitting in the play-offs (at time of writing) as they head to South London in October. Tickets for that mouth watering clash are available here.
In our final scheduled game of the month our Women host Farnham Town on Wednesday 23rd October in the Isthmian Women's Cup. The game is due to kick-off at Champion Hill at 19:45. Due to this being a cup game, season tickets are not valid. You can purchase your match tickets for that game here.
