Good afternoon, Rabble, 

After what has been a fantastic summer, it is great to be back at Champion Hill on a Saturday afternoon. There is nothing quite like the start of a new season and the energy that comes with it. 

I want to begin by thanking you for your incredible support. Your backing means everything to the players and staff, and it plays a huge part in what we are building here. 

Pre-season has been extremely positive. We have welcomed some excellent new additions to the squad, and they have settled in quickly. Just as importantly, the standards around the club have risen. The players and staff have embraced responsibility, worked relentlessly and shown real commitment throughout the last five weeks. That work has been reflected in six strong performances as we prepare for the challenges ahead. 

Today, I would also like to extend a warm welcome to everyone connected with Maldon & Tiptree on their return to Step 3 football. We know they have faced a challenging off-season, and I am sure they are just as eager as we are to get the competitive action underway. 

There is a real sense of belief around the club. Expectations should be high because we have worked hard to put ourselves in a strong position. We know nothing is achieved without dedication, consistency and togetherness, but our ambition is clear. We want to compete at the highest level possible in every competition we enter. 

To achieve that, we need your support every step of the way. The atmosphere you create at Champion Hill can make a huge difference, and we want this ground to be a place where teams know they are in for a difficult afternoon. 

The real football starts now. The players are ready, the staff are ready, and we cannot wait to put on a show for you.
