REPORT | Bognor Regis Town vs Dulwich Hamlet

Dulwich reignited play-off hopes on Saturday afternoon with victory at Bognor Regis Town. Putting behind them a shock defeat to bottom side Kingstonian.

Hamlet boosted by the signing of defender Peter Ojemen were without Jerome Binnom-Williams as he continues recovery from injury as well as Adrian Clifton and Craig Braham-Barrett being away on international duty.

The Hamlet would start the brightest of the two sides and after 14 minutes would be given a golden chance to take the lead. A quick counter attacked allowed Antony Jeffrey to burst forward only for him to be bought down in the box and win a penalty.

Fresh from missing a penalty on Wednesday night Luke Wanadio calmly stepped up and slotted the ball home scoring his 21st goal of the season.

The Rocks would go close 5 minutes later only for their short to be fired miles over the bar.

Will Lakin returned between the sticks and was called into action on the half hour mark as a deflected cross looked destined for the back of the net only for him to claw it away at the back post.

Danny Mills would almost double the lead two minutes only for his header to go straight into the keepers’ hands.

The Hamlet would double their lead 4 minutes into the 2nd half as Luke Wanadio would once again step up to take the penalty and slam home to score his 22nd of the season.

Will Lakin would again be called into action minutes later an in-swinging corner looked like it was heading straight in at the front post only for the keeper to get to it and force it out for another corner.

The Hamlet would score a 3rd as Michael Chambers slotted home from a deflected Wanadio free kick only for it to be ruled out for offside.

Lakin would be pulled into action 5 minutes from time as he stopped Bognor from scoring once again after a defensive mix up.

The Hamlet returned from the seaside victorious, and their play-off hopes rejuvenated heading into the final 7 games of the season.
