REPORT | Dartford vs Dulwich Hamlet | FA Trophy | 05/10/24
A strong Dulwich side bagged a 2nd clean sheet in a row following a strong defensive display to send Dartford out of the 24/25 FA Trophy.
Ralfi Hand would have the 1st major chance of the game as Mark Marshall picked out the midfielder but his shot was deflected into the keepers hands.
As we approached the half hour mark in the Kent sunshine Dartford would have a flurry of chances only for Jameson Horlick to deny them twice.
Whilst the hosts controlled the majority of the ball in the first half it was the same Hamlet defence that kept a clean sheet against Chichester that were standing firm.
With the sides level at the break it was the Darts who would come out the faster of the 2 sides in the 2nd half. Horlick again was called into action to send a deflected shot wide of the post.
It would take just 8 minutes for Luke Wanadio to wave his magic wand and fire the South Londoners ahead. Max Hudson played a beautiful back heel into the path of Wanadio who guided his shot low into the far corner.
With 15 to go Dartford would go close again with a cross into the box only for the resulting shot to hit the side netting.
With 5 to go Dartford would have their best chance of the afternoon. An untimely slip from Jerome Binnom-Williams sent Dartford through only for them to be met with Horlick who would deny the hosts an equaliser.
With that the Hamlet advanced to the next round of the FA Trophy keeping a second clean sheet in a row. The draw for the next round is on Monday 7th October with the Hamlet potentially securing a home tie giving us 5 home games in a row.
