The Hamlet women returned to SE22 on Wednesday night for their 2nd home game in 4 days as we hosted title chasing Chatham Town at Champion Hill. 

It would be the visitors that would start the brighter of the 2 sides with a string of corners in the opening few minutes. Saskia Reeves Priestley was called into action calmly gathering the ball. 

Fifteen minutes into the first half and Martha Goddard would have the home sides first major chance of the evening as she unleashed a looped shot that went over the bar. 

Angie Dunbar Bonnie would go close a few minutes later but her long range strike was saved by the Chatham keeper.

The visitors would perhaps have the best chance of the half as they unleashed a thunderous strike that was saved by Reeves Priestley in the Hamlet goal. 

Goddard went close minutes later but her shot was smothered by the oncoming Chatham Town keeper. 

The sides would head in at the break all square on a chilly Wednesday night.

Chatham would start the 2nd half much like they did the 1st on the front foot playing aggressive football only for their attacks to be thwarted by a strong Hamlet defence. 

The visitors would have a few half chances from corners and free kicks but nothing to cause any major concerns for Reeves Priestley in the Hamlet goal. 

With 20 minutes to go Iesha Swaby would latch onto the end of a Dunbar Bonnie cross but her strike wasn't clean and was easily gathered by the Chatham keeper. 

Reeves Priestley would ensure the Hamlet would secure a valuable point as she denied Sharpe again for the visitors. Diving down low to deny the title challengers. 

The Hamlet would secure another valuable point at the Hill making it 4 points from a possible 6 scoring 3 and conceding none.
