REPORT | Wingate & Finchley 0 - 1 Dulwich Hamlet | 12/08/25

The Hamlet headed north on Tuesday night following an opening day victory against Dartford with Mark Dacey and his side looking for their 1st away win of the campaign.
There was just one change from the demolition of Dartford as Lonit Talla was replaced by Sol Baugh in the starting 11.
The Hamlet started on the front foot and after just seven minutes as Danny Mills was fouled on the edge of the box. The ball was played out to Sol Baugh who then delivered a looping cross towards the head of Mills. His knock back into the area was cleared away.
Seven minutes later the hosts would go close. A driving run forward by Oreofe Bello gave him space to unleash a shot only for Toby Bull to get down and tip the shot wide.
Just after the 20 minute mark though and the Hamlet would lead through new signing Gaspar Mico. Michael Chambers made a driving run forward before playing out to Luke Wanadio. Wanadio then played the ball into Mico who fired home on his weak foot from a tight angle.
With 8 minutes left of the 1st half Wingate would go close again. Adanioritsewo Okorogheye got a shot off from range but Bull stood firm in the Hamlet goal before the ball was cleared away.
Just before the half-time whistle the Hamlet would go close again Nyren Clunis hit a free-kick goalward but the wall did its job. The ball fell to Wanadio but his volley went way over the bar.
The Hamlet would start the 2nd half on the front foot with Luke Wanadio cutting inside and striking but the ball headed just over the bar.
Clunis would go almost double the lead with 30 minutes left as he unleashed a shot towards goal only for it to be tipped out for a corner.
As we edged into extra-time Nyren Clunis would have the chance to put the Hamlet home and dry as he broke through on goal but sent his shot wide.
That would be all though with the boys in green & white returning to SE22 with all 3 points continuing a strong start to the 25/26 campaign.
