PROFILE

George Porter
Born in Sidcup, he joined his local Isthmian League Premier Division side Cray Wanderers for the 2009–10 season. After impressive performances for the first team, he attracted interest from several Football League teams including Leyton Orient, whom he joined in May 2010.
After two seasons and 35 Football League appearances, plus loan spells with Lewes and Hastings United, he joined Burnley in Summer 2012. Two years with the Lancashire club were spent mainly on loan to Colchester United and Wimbledon, followed by a brief spell at Rochdale.
He dropped back into non-league in joining Dagenham & Redbridge for the start of the 2014-15 season, then moved on to Maidstone United, Welling United and Bromley. He returned to Maidstone for the 2020-21 behind closed doors season, then on to Dartford for a season before joining Hamlet for the first time in summer 2022.
His 14 goals were enough to make him Hamlet’s leading goalscorer that season, but not to prevent relegation from National League South on goal difference. He departed for his first club Cray Wanderers that summer but returned for the start of this season.
