"12th Man" feature in Non League Paper

"12th Man" feature in Non League Paper

Our brilliant supporter-led fund-raising scheme that boosts Gavin Rose's playing budget got a great mention in Sunday's copy

The article was about the latest player that the "12th Man" scheme has helped to bring to Champion Hill.

The "12th Man" was established independently from both the Football Club & the Supporters Trust, as a single issue campaign, and is now in it's fourth season. donations are always welcomed, large or small, in the matchday bucket, at every home game, just inside the ground, & staffed by the two fans who set it up, NEIL COLE & SHAUN DOOLEY.

You can also pay, directly from your bank account, if that is easier, as many fans do, by clicking on the link at the end.

Here's what the 'Non League Paper' had to say:

BLOOMING BIG BOOST FOR ROSE

Dulwich Hamlet have plenty of reason for festive cheer after landing Rhys Murrell-Williamson-all thanks to supporters bearing Christmas gifts.
The 23-year-old has turned down the attentions of several other higher-ranked clubs to commit his future to the Ryman Premier side after a successful loan spell.
And it left Hamlet manager Gavin Rose praising the generosity of the club's fans, who helped seal the deal for the striker with money raised from their '12th-man Scheme.'
Rose told The NLP: "To be honest I had seen Rhys play over the last few years but he wasn't always playing regularly and we didn't always have the money. I knew he had talent and when he became available he seemed like the right player to spend the funds on. It really is a great scheme and loyal fans donate every month or week so it means a lot to us. It bridges the gap between supporters, myself and the club. Rhys has done really well since he has come in and we have managed to get him to sign a short-term contract-which is not easy. But he is a sensible young man and despite interest from Football League clubs he has realised that he will be playing competitive football here with the chance of getting noticed."
Having scored five goals and assisted six more in 18 matches, the young forward is proving himself, with Hamlet winning four of their last five league games before this weekend.
"We are hoping he stays at least until the end of the season," said Rose. "But whatever happens we would wish him well. For now he is enjoying his football and we are enjoying having him here."
