A welcome first time visitor

Another fan came to Champion Hill for the first time on Saturday...nothing unusual with that...he's 'local' from Brixton after all..except...

This chap is ALEXANDER KWAKKEL, and he's from Holland!

37-year-old Alexander is from the Heerhugowaard, a small town which is quite near to Alkmaar, in the north of Holland.
He has been living in London for less than two years, latterly being in the Finchley Road area. Having moved to Brixton less than a month ago he was looking for some local football to watch, when a friend who was an ex-work colleague suggested trying out Dulwich Hamlet, which wasn't too far from his new home.

Of course, the football on display won't be quite what Alexander is used to back home over the North Sea, as he's a supporter of Dutch giants Ajax. But that didn't mean he wasn't impressed with what he saw. "It was different to what I'm used to. I don't really know how the level compares to back in Holland, as we don't have so many divisions. It quite hard to compare with a different type of pyramid." said Alexander. "Actually the game was ok, not a great game, but all the people I met at the club were open, great to meet. As a new person I felt really welcome," he continued.

One thing's for sure...he saw enough, and enjoyed it enough to promise to come back!
