Akanbi Departs
Ibby Akanbi leaves the club after short spell.
Striker Ibby Akanbi has today left the club by mutual consent.
The former Maidstone and Dagenham & Redbridge forward signed for the Hamlet at the start of September, and would prove to be the final signing made by former manager Gavin Rose. Ibby made his Hamlet debut off the bench in our 3-1 defeat at Tonbridge Angels.
In total, Akanbi made six appearances for the club, scoring in both games in which he started, in his home debut against Hemel Hempstead Town, and he also netted a penalty late on against Athletic Newham in the London Senior Cup.
"Ibby has been a pleasure to work with in our short time together," said interim manager Paul Barnes, "unfortunately sometimes in football things don’t quite work out, and with a change in system, we felt that his game time would be limited and be in everyone’s best interests to be honest and allow for a fresh start. We wish Ibby well and the best for the future."
Thank you for your efforts and commitment during your time with us Ibby, and good luck with your career going forward.
