Albrighton Community Centre Collection
At our Men’s home league game against Hastings United this Saturday, we will be collecting food items for our community.
If you are attending Saturday’s home game against Hastings United, we are inviting you to bring along a donation for The Albrighton Community Fridge.
The Albrighton Fridge is always in need of non-perishable food donations and household items. At this moment in time, they are in particular need of:
- Teabags
- Any type of cleaning product
- Washing Machine Pods/ Powder
- Bleach
- Toilet Rolls
There will be a drop off point for your donations as you enter the ground via reception or the turnstiles.
Located across the road from Champion Hill, The Albrighton Community Fridge was set up by the Albrighton Community Centre in 2018 to reduce food waste among local food retailers and support the surrounding community by providing small food items at no charge.
In March 2020, the centre became a Covid-19 Food Hub and the Community Fridge ramped up with more volunteers, longer opening hours, and a much wider range of goods. Today the fridge provides food and other essentials to an average of 350 households per week — that’s a total of over 900 adults and more than 450 children. The fridge offers fresh fruit and vegetables, hot meals, frozen meat, bread, tinned goods and a limited selection of toiletries and sanitary products.
We hope as many of you as possible will be able to bring something along to help support the vital work of the Albrighton Centre.
If you are unable to attend the match on Saturday but would like to make a donation, please contact do not worry. We have a permanent collection point at the main entrance to the club and are happy to accept donations whenever we are open!
