Our local papers are gearing up for the coming season, starting with our first friendly tomorrow at home to Bromley

Yesterday the weekly 'Southwark News' reporting on the Harry Ottaway story, where it was first feared he had broken his leg at the pre-season training camp, up in Colchester, last weekend:

Ottaway gets big break

Dulwich Hamlet striker Harry Ottaway has not suffered a second leg break in just under a year despite initial fears the frontman had been struck by an injury curse.
Ottaway was signed by Dulwich in the summer of 2013 but a leg break he picked up in August last year against Carshalton all but ended his season, bar a few appearances at the campaign's end.
At the weekend a tweet from Aspire Football UK, the football academy run by Hamlet management trio Gavin Rose, Junior Kadi and Kevin James, stated that Ottaway had once again suffered a leg break.
It read: "Thoughts Are With Harry Ottaway...Leg Broken Again. He'll Be Back Stronger Again.#Toplad."
But on Monday the forward was sent for further tests which revealed his injury was not as bad as first feared.
Hamlet boss Rose told the News: "Harry's gone for a second opinion at King's [College], the hospital that had his previous results, and they have just said the leg is not broken but Harry just has severe bruising."
Last November the club's committee, players' and fans' held a benefit night for Ottaway, which raised in excess of £1,000, as his injury also severely affected his earning ability off the pitch.
Hamlet have also confirmed who they will face in the FA Cup and FA Trophy after the draws were held in the last seven days.
In the First Qualifying Round of the FA Cup, a game due to take place on Saturday September 13, Hamlet have a home fixture against Worthing or Guernsey, who both play in the Ryman League South.
In the Trophy Dulwich enter at the First Qulifying Round stage and are again at home against Chalfont St Peter or AFC Hayes, both of who operate in the Southern League Division One Central league, in a game pencilled in for November 1.

Today we headlined the non league coloumn in the weekend edition of the 'South London Press':

Hamlet aim to build on big success

Gavin Rose is not prepeared to rest on his laurels after Dulwich Hamlet's fine first season back in the Ryman Premier Division.
The South Londoners were one of the league's surprise packages and were in promotion contention until the closing stages of the last campaign, eventually finishing third.
Yet Rose has shown his intention to kick on again by rebuilding his playing squad, who play their first pre-season friendly at home to Bromley tomorrow. (3pm start).
Hamlet chief executive Martin Eede said: "I know for a fact that Gavin was disappointed in how we closed the season after being in quite a strong position. We as a club were absolutely delighted with our first season back in the Premier Division but Gavin, with his high standards, wasn't happy that we fell away a bit. We started off the season thinking we don't want to be in trouble but his aims were quite different-more power to him. It appears that he is ringing the changes. There are several players that have been released. I was at training on Tuesday night to sign up Terrell Forbes, Ashley Carew and Michael Kamara [from Dover]. They are all on contracts . There are quite a few other faces. Ashley Robinson, who is ex-Palace, also signed. With things being sorted off the pitch, which has got us on the straight and naoorw again. then things look brighter on the pitch. It will be nice for us to make a challenge this year."
Dulwich also have home games against Crystal Palace (July 29, 7.45pm) and Tooting & Mitcham United (August 5, 7.45pm).
"Bromley are a still test," said Eede. "They played Dagenham & Redbridge last week and only just lost to their full league side. Playing Crystal Palace is something we tend to do every year. Unfortunately it won't be the first-team because they'll be in America. They approached us to keep the connection going. Then there is a tasty one against our local rivals. We maybe haven't got the frontline games that we had last season, which were particularly good, but they are still exciting ones."

(Note: Despite this report, we did not finish thrid last season, if we had we would have been in the play-offs!)
