After the excitement of the win at Billericay Town, this was a much more mundane affair against very determined opponents who will believe they deserved to take the match to penalties.
A much changed Dulwich side dominated throughout but, after a bright start in which Nana Boakye-Yiadom curled an early effort wide and Kenny Beaney had a goal disallowed, there was little quality football played.
After those two chances within the first ten minutes, it was actually Brentwood who went closest with a free kick that struck the crossbar, but generally they found it challenging to create any openings against a strong Dulwich defence.
For Dulwich, Nana Boakye-Yiadom just failed to lift his shot over home keeper Page sand there was a strange non-award of a penalty. Nathan Green drove a cross straight at a player a couple of yards in front of him that was adjudged to have been handled. The decision was harsh but with the player a yard inside the penalty area there was little doubt that, having been given, then the end result would be a penalty. However, the referee adjudged the free kick some 3 yards outside the box.
With half time close, Nathan Green then planted a header over the bar from no more than 6 yards.
Half Time 0-0
The second half was even more forgettable than the first. Nathan Green miseed a chance early on after fine work down the left, before home keeper Page produced a string of saves from Faal, Guimares and Boakye-Yiadom in quick succession, and had earned the luck that he received when the final effort of the scramble struck the bar.
Brentwood grew in confidence but, despite one fumble by Addai in goal, they struggled to get any efforts on goal.
With the game into the last five minutes, Page produced a wonder save to keep out a bullet header from substitute Dipo Akinyemi. The Dulwich striker rose at the far post and bulleted a header goalwards that Page someone clawed to safety.
However, Page's heroics in a man of the match performance were to be unrewarded by a bizarre goal with the final kick of the game. Dulwich were awarded a free kick some 5 yards inside their half and Addai stepped forward to pump the ball into the penalty area.
His kick was missed by everybody and, with defenders failing to clear, the slippery pitch also saw Page lose his footing and the ball bounced almost apologetically into the goal to book Dlwich a home game in the semi finals against Met Police.
