Carr drives on!

Danny Carr, a key player from our Division One South title winning side in 2013, has earned a rave review from The Hamlet.

Young Daniel, who left Champion Hill to join Huddersfield Town has just been signed by Football League Two side Cambridge United & Dulwich Hamlet Chief Executive Martin Eede was full of praise for him, when speaking to the 'Cambridge Evening News'

The headline ran:

"Special" Danny Carr will be good signing for Cambridge United

Martin told their regional newspaper that: Danny Carr is a "special" talent who will be good to have on board at Cambridge United.

Danny signed a two-year deal at the Abbey on Wednesday, earned himself a move to Huddersfield after his scoring exploits at Dulwich.
Martin spoke to them full of praise:

"He's a rather special young man. He came to our end-of-season celebration when he'd just signed for Huddersfield and gave a really moving speech, thanking everyone at the club from the players and management to the fans. He's a good guy to have on board. The gaffer at Cambridge has got a good reputation for giving young guys a go. He's got a lot of pace, a nice touch and he works hard. He learned a lot from Gavin (Rose), the Dulwich Hamlet manager."

Carr moved from Dulwich to the Terriers for an undisclosed five-figure fee, but was restricted to just two appearances despite scoring goals for their development team.

He went on to tell them:

"We've had quite a few young lads go from us to pro clubs and we're always pleased to see them go on. I know he went out on loan to a couple of clubs from Huddersfield. Like they all do, they need a bit of confidence and for the person who picks the team to pick them. The Dulwich fans were very keen on him and he related to them very well. It was a genuinely good experience having him play for us."
