Close...but no cigar!
The Hamlet chance of victory in tonights Capital League match went up in smoke, after a late Wealdstone goal...
The Reserves took an early lead, through Richmond Ayoola, after a low drive crept through the keeper. The Hamlet, fielding a young side, deservedly stayed in front up to half time.
But a second half penalty & a late winner, with only a few minutes left on the clock, cemented the second spot in the Capital League West Division table for visitors Wealdstone.
On the plus side Frankie Sawyer came off the bench in the second half to enjoy a run out up front, as he starts his return to full fitness.
Our next Capital League match is in two weeks time, when we are back at Champion Hill, when we host Wingate & Finchley, kick off 7.45pm.
