Here is the official Club response to the recent Trust newsletter sent out over the last week to its members.

An article highlighted some concerns regarding the future of our Football Club. Following DHPD Limited, the owners of the freehold to the ground, being placed in administration.

The Club are a little disappointed at some of the sensationalist nature of it, based on conjecture. Here is the Club official statement on the matter:

“The Dulwich Hamlet Football Committee has become aware of a recent newsletter released by the Dulwich Hamlet Supporters Trust that outlines recent events relating to the lease of the stadium and also the potential liabilities of the Football Club.

The Committee and Director of Dulwich Hamlet FC have been aware of this situation for a number of weeks and have been working with all parties to reach a satisfactory conclusion that enables the football club to continue to use the facilities now and for many years to come.

The Club is being represented in this matter by solicitors sympathetic to its needs and is not convinced that it is liable for any debts of DHPD Limited.

The Committee and Director have not seen fit to comment until this time as the situation is a changing one and speculation that may alarm our supporters for no reason was not seen as being beneficial to the Club or its supporters.

Whilst we understand that the Trust is committed to keeping all fans and stakeholders in the Club informed of matters, we find the speculation contained in the article regarding the possible scenarios unhelpful at the present time as negotiations by our legal representatives are at a delicate stage.

The Club Committee and Director are unaware of the identity of any interested parties looking to purchase the Club at the current time.”

The Club has no further statements to make on this matter at the current time, & do not plan to do so as matters are on-going, as the Club seek to find a solution that suits all parties involved.
