Cupdates

Both the men's and women's sides have got cup games coming up, have a read of who we've got and when

Men's Side

FA Trophy

Paul Barnes and his side have discovered their opponents for the Second Round of this year's FA Trophy this week, with us drawn away to fellow National League South side Taunton Town in the Second Round.

The trip to Somerset on Saturday 19th November will be one of two visits within four days to Wordsworth Drive, with our league fixture with the Peacocks taking place the following Tuesday. The FA Trophy clash will be the first ever meeting between the two clubs.

At the same stage last season, we squeezed past Brentwood Town by two goals to one up in Essex, before losing on penalties to Plymouth Parkway in Round Three. Our best run has been to reach the quarter-finals twice, in 1980 and 2017.

We have also not lost our first match in an FA Trophy campaign since 2012, so hopefully that run will continue at Taunton.

London Senior Cup

We will be facing Cray Wanderers in the Second Round of this year's competition. This comes after The Wands came through their clash with Leyton Orient in Round One earlier this month.

The tie will take place at Champion Hill, with a date to be announced in the future. The game will also see the return of legendary winger Nyren Clunis to Dulwich as part of the Cray squad, having not come up against us since ending his 486-game spell with the club in the summer of 2020.

Other ex-Hamlet alumni in Neil Smith's ranks currently include Anthony Cook, Billy Crook, Tom Derry and David Ijaha.

Women's Side

Women's FA Cup

We are in the First Round for the first time in our history, either as AFC Phoenix or as Dulwich Hamlet, having secured our berth in the proper stages of the competition with a 3-0 win over Winchester City last month.

The draw for Round One has pitted us against league rivals Aylesford Ladies, to whom we will travel on Sunday 13th November, with the game taking place at K Sports.

We have good recent memories of playing Aylesford, having won 7-0 against them at Champion Hill in October, but Aylesford have history in the FA Cup against us, having beaten us in a tie in 2019, expect it to be a tough clash.

League Cup

The first weekend of November sees both our first team and our reserves in action in the London & South East Regional Women's Premier Division League Cup.

The Reserves have already come through one round of the competition, recording a big 6-3 victory over Maidstone United at the start of October, with a hat-trick from Isata Kamara, a brace for Ana de Pellegrin and a further strike from Catherine Campbell sending them into Round 2. Jack Badu's side now face Welling United, with the side in action at 2PM on Sunday 6th November at The Griffin Sports Ground.

The first team will be strong favourites in their game with Bexhill United, with their hostesses playing in Division One South. The two sides will meet for the first time at Bexhill College Sports Ground at 1:30PM on Sunday. Having crashed out of the FA Cup to Herne Bay from the same league last season, Ryan Dempsey and his side will look to avoid any complacency in this tie.

Capital Senior Cup

We are facing higher league opponents in Round 2 of the Capital Senior Cup, as we travel to Tier 4 Actonians on Sunday 15th January 2023. We had a similar challenge at the same stage last season, when we beat Actonians' league rivals London Seaward 4-1. We would then go on to reach the final, but fell short of collecting our first piece of silverware as Ashford Town ran out 2-0 winners.
