Dave Fry RIP
It is with sadness that Dulwich Hamlet Football Club has learned of the passing of one of our long-distance fans DAVE FRY
Dave had been following The Hamlet since the early Nineties, first getting the non-league bug in his university days at Liverpool University, supporting Prescot Cables FC.
Settled up north for many years he continued to follow the Cables, and was their Club Photographer, being a top notch snapper, and also followed local rugby league. he happily shared many of his photos on his superb sports blog, which you can view by CLICKING HERE.
Dave particularly enjoyed his trips down South for the more 'scenic' games, such a coastal trips, or to pleasant places we hadn't been to before, 'a beano' trip in old money. When he first started following The Hamlet he certainly enjoyed them as part of 'The Rabble' in the early to mid-Nineties, when everybody who came to games knew him, before our attendances exploded.
On his rarer, more recent excursions down to cheer on Dulwich he was particularly embraced by the 'Old Skool' contingent, with whom he happily reminisced over many a pint! He particularly enjoyed going to watch the old Supporters' Team in the 'dim and distant past', despite not lacing up his boots, on some of our European tours.
To his family and close friends, his 'second family' up at Prescot Cables Football Club, and all of us who knew him at Champion Hill as a fellow Dulwich Hamlet supporter, we offer our deepest sympathy.
DAVID FRY 1968-2018 REST IN PEACE
