Deepest sympathy to all at Whyteleafe FC
The Leafe are a Club in mourning after the sudden death of one of their most loyal supporters, at the weekend.
Over the years, when stuck in the same division, it is always nice to be greeted by a friendly face that you get to recognise, & chat to, season after season; although that wasn't possible during the current campaign, after they dropped into the Kent League.
One such person at Whyteleafe's pleasant Church Road ground was Allen Kelly. He was one of their most loyal fans, always willing to help out, with all the 'little' jobs that need to be done for any football club at our level to 'tick over'. Helping with the programme, staffing the turnstiles, weeding the terraces. All the sort of things that need to be done, but rarely get noticed.
Sadly, he collapsed at home on Saturday, & died not long after, having got back from their match away to Greenwich Borough on Saturday. Hopefully a small crumb of comfort for those he has left behind, that he saw a splendid win for his team that afternoon.
Everyone at Dulwich Hamlet Football Club would like to express their deepest sympathy to his partner Christine, their family, & everyone associated with Whyteleafe Football Club, who was fortunate enough to know him.
