Disappointing Sunday for the Dulwich Hamlet youngsters

A first defeat for the Aspire Academy coached under 18s as Dulwich Hamlet go winless at the weekend.

“But I will not lose, for even in defeat there's a valuable lesson learned, so it evens up for me”. After six straight victories to start the season Dulwich Hamlet under 18s winning streak came to end yesterday as they went down 2-4 away to Bromley, allowing the young Ravens to close the gap at the top of the Kent Youth League North Division to two points. Dulwich’s goals came from Abdul Lyboudi and Diallang Jaiyesimi.

Elsewhere the Under 16s shared the points after drawing with Greenwich Borough after drawing 1-1 in a home league encounter.

Having been thoroughly beaten 1-4 at home by division leaders Erith & Belvedere Youth Development in a league meeting just seven days previous, there must have been some trepidation when under 15s faced the same opponents in a Faversham Trophies Challenge Cup tie yesterday. However they put in a determined performance against strong opposition, the tie only settled by a single goal.

The under 14s failed to break their losing streak as they went down 7-2 at Bridon Ropes though they did break their scoring duck.
