Here's the Harrow Borough line from the FA Trophy game on Saturday

This is the match report, how the match was viewed through their eyes, taken from the official Harrow Borough website:

Harrow’s involvement in the FA competitions ended for the second season running without a pound of prize money banked.

However, their exit from the Trophy was in marked contrast to the FA Cup defeat a month ago: while that had been a shambolic surrender, today they showed drive and character, only losing out to an excellent footballing Hamlet side to a wonder goal scored two minutes into stoppage time.

The revolving door at Earlsmead has continued to turn as Dave Anderson seeks the right formula, and today saw a debut for forward Steve Butterworth, signed from Carshalton Athletic. Simeon Akinola had picked up an injury in training so Calum Willock led the line.

James curled an early free-kick over for the hosts, before Wilson in the home goal dropped Garry Jones’s corner, no Harrow forward alert enough to pounce before he could recover. Shaun Lucien’s shot was then heading for the corner until Deen deflected it wide. At the other end Brandon Horner began an assured performance with an important interception after Jerome Walker, once of Harrow, went past Jones and Danny Leech.

Lucien then won the ball in midfield and advanced on the Hamlet goal, but chose to try to beat a third opponent rather than play the ball to Willock. This had bad consequences for Harrow, as Dulwich broke quickly upfield, stopped initially by a Michael Peacock challenge that earned a booking, and further punishment as the resulting free-kick by Oztumer was headed in by Daly for the opener, the time 23 minutes.

Dulwich had the better of the rest of the half although Peacock and Leech kept most of the danger at arm’s length. Horner made a super tackle to stop Clunis, and Peacock cleared off the line after a run and cross by Walker.

Harrow had an early second half attempt when Jake Gilbert’s 20-yarder, set up by Willock, was held by Wilson, but Hamlet had a strong spell, Daly curling a shot wide and then having another attempt well saved by Daniel Lincoln, Walker clipping a shot across goal, and Gilbert making a fine double-block to stop another home attack.

Borough got through that pressure and Rob Wolleaston’s drive was held by Wilson at the second attempt. Lucien’s shot was then blocked after a great pass from Saheed Sankoh, who then had a curling effort saved. Horner then put in a great cross from the right that Willock didn’t react quickly enough to, when a dive might have made contact with the ball.

Harrow equalised in the 73rd minute with a fine team goal. Wolleaston drove into the box on the right, working it back to Horner who put in yet another good cross. Willock held off an opponent and laid the ball to Jones, just outside the box, who controlled the ball with his right foot before smashing it past Wilson with his left from 20 yards. Wilson got a hand to the ball but couldn’t prevent a fine goal.

With a replay looming on Tuesday evening, both sides sought the win today. Butterworth’s 25-yarder went just wide with Wilson nowhere, and Clunis was close to a goal for Dulwich. Horner made a super challenge to stop Henry-Francis inside the Harrow six-yard box, and a super move from one end of the field to the other saw Butterworth receive Lincoln’s throw just inside the Hamlet half, advance and square the ball for Jordan Berry whose shot just wide.

With two minutes stoppage time played, Dulwich developed an attack on the left, the ball then worked across to Samuels, who stepped to his right 25 yards out and hit a fantastic strike that started off missing the goal, but had a bend on it that took it past Lincoln’s groping hand to nestle in the very corner of the net.

Harrow now have a ten-day break before their next match. Their followers left this game, not with the near-suicidal feeling that has accompanied four or five of this season’s reverses, but with a degree of hope that what they’d seen from their side in the second half could be the ingredients of improved form.
