Dulwich were still without the injured Anthony Acheampong, Nathan Green and Gavin Tomlin, whilst Nana Boakye-Yiadom was rewarded for his hat trick last week with a starting place.

The game was only into the second minute when Dulwich took the lead through a Rickie Hayles header. Nathan Ferguson delivered the corner from the right and Hayles rose to head his first goal for the club.

This was the prelude to almost complete dominance during the opening half hour but, as has often happened, The Hamlet couldn't add the second goal that would have given them a cushion.

In the 6th minute, Sanchez Ming delivered a cross that a stretching Nana Boakye-Yiadom was able to direct goalwards, but Harry Palmer in the home goal made a fairly routine save. There minutes later, Nyren Clunis and Sanchez Ming combined but Ming's shot was straight at the keeper.

It wasn't until the 17th minute that the home side were seen ass an attacking threat but, when Marc Weatherstone slipped, Michael Chambers came across to cut out the danger.

The next chance feel to Nyren Clunis just a minute later. He won a challenge midway inside the Dulwich half and then set off on a run that took him through the home defence. However, he got his effort on goal all wrong and the ball sailed high and wide. Ibrahim Kargbo then had an effort from a free kick that just cleared the bar.

For the home side, Giuseppe Sole had an effort that was just wide of the target but it was The Hamlet who continued to dominate.

There was an ugly melee on the half hour when Fraser Shaw was hacked down from behind by Dorking full back Dean Hamlin, with the Dulwich player showing his annoyance by pushing Hamlin back to the floor as he stood up. After players from both sides had exchanged views thgree players were booked.

From this point Dulwich were unable to reclaim their earlier dominance, although Nana Boakye-Yiadom had a volley, from a Michael Chambers long pass, that Palmer saved, whilst Ibrahim Kargbo fired just wide.

Half Time 0-1

Nyren Clunis passed up a good chance just two minutes after the break when he failed to shoot first time and Nana Boakye-Yiadom had an effort saved. However, Dorking began to gain in confidence and, after a slip by Frazer Shaw, Sole failed to take advantage.

Nana Boakye-Yiadom then forced a good block from Palmer in the home goal, but the lead began to look more precarious as the home side started to put The Hamlet under pressure. On several occasions the speed off his line of Preston Edwards thwarted dangerous through passes and the Dulwich defence had to repel more regular forward forays.

However, the home side wasted a couple of free kick opportunities around the edge of the penalty area and also passed up the best chance of the half with 18 minutes remaining. The Dulwich defence was split open but the Dorking forward blazed the ball over the bar and out of the ground with only Preston Edwards to beat.

In the end, Dulwich were happy to settle for the one goal that gave them three points and their first clean sheet of the season.

Final Score 0-1
