Dulwich Hamlet 1-4 Crystal Palace
Premier League fitness and ability told as Crystal Palace scored 3 second half goals.
A strong Crystal Palace side opened the game in dominant mood and it took some good defending and goalkeeping to keep the scores level early and it wasn't until the 27th minute that Dulwich fell behind.
In fact the goal came immediately after The Hamlet's best chance of the half as Harry Ottaway almost got on the end of an Erhun Oztumer free kick and from this Crystal Palace broke rapidly and Elliott Grandin finished emphatically.
Rather than going on to dominate the rest of the half, it was Dulwich who came more into the game as their neat passing ensured that they were able to keep the ball. Then in the 39th minute came an unlikely equaliser as a Palace defender dwelt on the ball and was dispossessed by Harry Ottaway and Erhun Oztumer nipped in to easily finish past Lewis Price in the Palace goal.
However, having gone in level at the break, the game was ended as a contest by goals from Grandin again and Jerome Williams in the 51st and 53rd minutes.
A fourth goal arrived through Yannick Bolasie although the Assistant Referee raised his flag long before the ball was placed in the Hamlet goal but put it down at the last moment.
The best chance of the half for The Hamlet fell to Ian Daly but he was unable to find the target after good work down the left from Jerome Walker.
Overall a good workout for The Hamlet against a talented Crystal Palace side boasting significant first team experience and they can be pleased that they played their part in a very entertaining and free flowing game.
