Dulwich Hamlet 1-4 Harrow Borough

Dulwich Hamlet 1-4 Harrow Borough

This was an absolute horror show as Dulwich turned in an abject display.

With Gavin Tomlin suspended, Roman Michael-Percil came into the starting line up as the only change from Saturday's victory over Folkestone. In truth, this could have been an entirely new team as they produced one of the worst performances seen at Champion Hill for years.

The game was only 8 minutes in when Dulwich were ripped apart on the right. When the cross came in it was scrambled away to Taylor no more than 10 yards out and he had time and space to pick his spot.

It got worse in the 16th minute when Driver was allowed to stroll past non existent challenges to score. Having turned past Matt Drage and drifted unchallenged past Ming and Chambers he comfortably beat Preston Edwards.

Harrow seemed happy to sit on their lead Dulwich struggled to exert any pressure. There was no incisiveness to Dulwich's play and defensively they looked error prone which meant Harrow looked like scoring with every attack.

Another mistake allowed Driver to get a sight of goal but his cross shot whistled just wide of the far post.

Therefore it came as a surprise when Dulwich got a foothold in the game with 4 minutes of the half remaining, Daniel Carr received the ball in space 25 yards out and his shot was too hot for Williams to handle. Nyren Clunis seized on the rebound and fired into the top corner.

Dulwich finally managed to exert some pressure on the Harrow goal but couldn't create any clear chances before the break.

Half Time 1-2

The second half started brightly with Daniel Carr almost getting through. However, it quickly deteriorated from a Hamlet perspective. In the 59th minute, sloppy play in midfield saw Dulwich lose possession and the ball was transferred to Ibrahim Meite who was allowed to advance and slot past Preston Edwards.

Three minutes later more poor defending left Meite through on goal again and he lashed a shot that gave Edwards no chance.

Dulwich huffed and puffed but there was no conviction to their efforts although Kadell Daniel tried his luck on a number of occasions without any luck.

In fact, for Harrow, Max Holland wasted a good opportunity and Meite was just too high with a free kick from distance as they encountered little resistance from the Dulwich defence.

Overall a night to forget and much to ponder for Gavin Rose about the side moving forwards.

Final Score 1-4
