Dulwich Hamlet 2-0 AFC Hornchurch
Dulwich moved up to third, kept a second consecutive clean sheet and saw a first senior goal for Shawn McCoulsky.
A Dulwich side showing only one change from that which recorded a victory at VCD, Malachi Robinson making his debut in place of the suspended Kershaney Samuels, secured a win over an AFC Hornchurch side that slipped to the foot of the table.
In truth, the visitors enjoyed the majority of possession but very rarely tested Phil Wilson despite the home custodian carrying an injury for over an hour.
It was Wilson who was first to be tested as Ethan Pinnock under hit a back pass and he had to race out to deny George Purcell with 10 minutes played.
Two minutes later The Hamlet were in front as fine interplay on the right between Ashley Carew and Dean McDonald saw the latter lay the ball into the path of Xavier Vidal who fired home from just outside the penalty area.
The visitors were on top for much of the rest of the half but couldn't manage to create a real chance as The Hamlet defence snuffed out any threat. Alex Bentley had a shot blocked and there were a number of crosses scrambled clear. A corner flashed across the six yard box with Martin Tuohy somehow not getting a touch. However, Terrell Forbes and Ethan Pinnock were rock solid for Dulwich.
Half Time 1-0
Bentley was just too high with an early second half effort but it was Dulwich who grabbed their second on 51 minutes as Shawn McCoulsky chased a ball on the left and dispossessed the defender. He then turned inside and fired past Mott to double the lead with his first senior goal.
The visitors responded again with a raft of possession but again very little in the way of clear sights of goal. In fact, Mott had to get down well to save a well struck Ashley Carew free kick.
AFC Hornchurch threw on more forwards but one of those, the dangerous Leon McKenzie, lasted around 5 minutes before he was injured in a challenge with Terrell Forbes, who did well to make up for misjudging the bounce of a long ball.
Despite Wilson's injury he got down well to save from Tuohy as Dulwich secured the points that lifted them up to third in the table.
