Dulwich Hamlet 2-0 Harrow Borough

Dulwich remain top of the Bostik League Premier Division despite a stuttering performance against Harrow Borough.

Dulwich produced an unconvincing display but eventually prevailed with two second half goals. Ashley Carew converted a 59th minute penalty before Marc Weatherstone headed home from a Carew corner in the 73rd.

This was a game where Dulwich found little fluency and never really got going over the 90 minutes. There was little to choose between the sides for long periods and on another day some sloppy play would have been punished.

As it was, Dulwich started brightly and Minter in the visitors goal had to push an effort from Gavin Tomlin wide in only the 2nd minute. Michael Chambers then saw a header from the resulting corner drop just over the bar.

However, Dulwich were struggling to really get a grip on the game and could have gone behind but Shaun Preddie headed over when well placed as Harrow looked dangerous on the break.

Micahel Chambers had to be replaced early but Marc Weatherstone seamlessly stepped in on the right side of defence, with Quade Taylor moving to the left side.

Gavin Tomlin went close for Dulwich in the 15th minute but having turned inside from the right touchline, his shot struck the outside of the near post. However, this was almost the final chance that The Hamlet created in the first half and, but from Preston Edwards, who made two vital saves in the 17th minute then they might have been in front.

Minter raced off his line to thwart Allassani and Gavin Tomlin fired wide from a free kick but there was little cohesion in Dulwich's play and with steadier finishing and better pass choices then Harrow would have been in front at the break

Half Time 0-0

Harrow opened the second half brightly and Banya fired two good chances wide before Dulwich took the lead in the 59th minute. There seemed little danger as Harrow cleared the ball to the edge of the box, but with Gavin Tomlin shielding the ball before looking to lay off or turn, he was bundled over from behind . Ashley Carew converted confidently from the penalty spot.

Dulwich then should have doubled their lead in the 66th minute when Tomlin twisted and turned his marker to create space on the right but Ferguson managed to head his
cross wide when it seemed easier to score. Reise Allassani then passed up a good chance before Dulwich added a second. A corner from Ashley Carew in the 73rd minute was met by an unstoppable header from Marc Weatherstone to double Dulwich's lead.

Harrow came very close to reducing the arrears in the 77th minute but Kabba's effort came back off the post and the same player later headed wide at the far post. For Dulwich, Reise Allassani was thwarted by Minter on two occasions as he failed to maintain his goal per game start to life at Dulwich.

Final Score 2-0
