Dulwich opened confidently and came close to scoring in the 10th minute as Roman Michael-Percil raced clear on the right but his cross was cut out before it could reach Daniel Carr in the middle.
Dulwich then had a penalty appeal waved aside in the 18th minute when Sanchez Ming surged clear on the left and seemed to be shoved in the back as he cut inside to open up a route to goal.
Daniel Carr was just too high as he volleyed a Gavin Tomlin corner just too high and Tomlin also broke through the middle but couldn't find an accurate pass to Carr. Carr couldn't get enough purchase on his header from a cross by Ming before the visitors took the lead in the 37th minute.
A well weighted through pass was threaded through the centre of the Dulwich defence to Randell Williams who rolled the ball calmly past the advancing Preston Edwards,
Two minutes later Palace came close to a second goal as a quick break from a Dulwich corner saw them strike the post.
Half Time 0-1
The first chance of the season on half saw Levi Lumeka fire an effort straight into the midriff of Preston Edwards. Gavin Tomlin then went close with a free kick for The Hamlet before Nyren Clunis levelled the scores.
Receiving the ball some 30 yards out he advanced a few yards before unleashing a low drive that beat Kleton Perntreou low to his right.
Clunis then had an effort kicked off the line after a Dulwich corner was cleared to the edge of the penalty area.
However, Crystal Palace went back in front when a Randell Williams free kick was headed home at the far post by Luke Dreher.
Dulwich pushed forward in search of an equaliser and got it when a throw in was flicked on by Michael Chambers and was adjudged to have been handled. Daniel Carr converted confidently from the spot.
Preston Edwards made a good low save to keep the scores level and Matt Drage made a timely intervention as Palace broke out menacingly.
Sanchez Ming forced a fine low save with an effort before Palace came close to a winner with the last kick of the game.
Final Score 2-2
