The Hamlet suffered a narrow defeat but put in a good display against their more illustrious visitors.

In front of a crowd of 1020, Dulwich fell to defeat but put in a performance that bodes well for the Season ahead against a Palace side containing their talented youngsters supplemented by the experienced Stephen Dobbie and new signing Frazier Campbell.

It was the home side that created the first chance 0as a long ball out of defence gave Nyren Clunis a sight of goal but his shot was saved. At the other end an error by Ethan Pinnock almost let in the dangerous Reise Allassani but his shot was blocked.

Nyren Clunis was again to the fore as Dulwich came close to grabbing the lead. He outpaced his marker and pulled the ball back to Dean Lodge whose shot was headed off the line.

Another flowing move started by the impressive Ashley Carew saw the ball swept forward via Laurent Hamici to Nyren Clunis whose cross looked to have picked out the onrushing Dean Lodge but he couldn't connect with his header.

It was Palace who opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a sublime chip from full back Mandela Egbo that gave Inigo Echepare no chance.

The Hamlet were soon back on the attack and Ashley Carew forced a fine save from Gregory in the Palace goal before the equaliser arrived on 22 minutes. Laurence Hamici outmuscled his marker to the right of goal and then sent a thumping shot high inside Gregory's near post.

The match continued to ebb and flow as Dean Lodge had an overhead kick deflected wide and Sullay KaiKai sent a grasping drive just too high.

Dulwich then went back in front as a Kevin James corner was handled and Ashley Carew converted emphatically from the spot.

However the lead was short-lived as Kershaney Samuels gave the ball away bringing it out of defence and Allassani set up KaiKai to equalise.

Half Time 2-2

The second half was only 2 minutes old when Palace were awarded a penalty for a trip in the box but the spot kick was missed as the ball clipped the bar on its way over.

The numerous substitutions meant that for much of the half the game lacked its earlier fluency and whilst the football was pleasing on the eye there were few clear chances.

An Ethan Pinnock cross has to be tripped over and there were a number of crosses that failed to find anybody to finish the good approach work.

The visitors winner arrived on 72 minutes as Dulwich failed to clear their lines and left a Palace substitute with the chance to fire home. Late on another fine effort from the visitors struck the post.
