Dulwich Hamlet 2-3 Slough Town

Dulwich Hamlet 2-3 Slough Town

Two late goals gave Slough victory despite Reise Allassani's double for The Hamlet.

For the Dulwich line-up visit here..

The Hamlet slipped to a disappointing defeat having been leading with only 12 minutes remaining, but they could have little complaint as they lacked defensive organisation without the absent Richard Orlu.

Slough started far the brighter and Matt Lench fired too high when well placed in only the 2nd minute and were ahead in only the 4th minute. Yannis Amboisine did well to deny Warren Harris but from the resulting corner Harris got free to head home. However, the lead lasted just two minutes. Jeffrey Monakana was released on the right and his low cross was missed by the covering defender, leaving Reise Allassani to fire home the equaliser.

However, Dulwich still looked uncomfortable at the back and the midfield failed to get to grips with Slough's runners from midfield. This resulted in first Harris and then Lench getting in behind the defence, but luckily for The Hamlet they were off target. At every set piece, Slough looked likely to score as they created space for their runners.

It was against the run of play that Dulwich took a 28th minute lead. A long throw from Jack Connors was met by the head of Danny Mills whose header was clawed out by visiting keeper Turner. The ball feel loose and Reise Allassani produced a composed finish to put The Hamlet in front.

Slough had a 37th minute penalty appeal turned aside as Harris fell under challenge from Aaron Barnes and Yannis Ambroisine produced a terrific block to ensure Dulwich went to the break in front.

Half Time 2-1

Gavin Rose made two changes at half time with Jack Connors replaced by Nyren Clunis and Yannis Ambroisine giving way to Christian Smith and Dulwich were first to threaten after the break. Jeffrey Monakana went on a run from his own half before eventually seeing his run halted at the expense of a corner.

The Hamlet then went close to extending their lead in the 56th minute as a cross from the right was met by the head of Danny Mills, but his header crashed back into play off the cross bar. However, Slough were still threatening and Lench forced a save from Maynard-Brewer on the hour.

It seemed that Dulwich might extend their lead when Lewis White got away on the right but although Turner could only push his cross straight out, all Dulwich players had attacked the cross and the danger was cleared. Good defending from Quade Taylor and Ben Chapman averted further danger before Reise Allassani fashioned a chance for himself that was blocked for a corner.

However, Dulwich's unconvincing defending lead to a 78th minute equaliser as Lewis White wasn't strong enough in a challenge with Wells and the Slough full back slammed a fantastic strike across Maynard-Brewer from 25 yards to bring the scores level.

That wasn't the end of Dulwich's poor defending as they conceded a third with five minutes remaining. Quade Taylor inexplicably tried to win the ball on the half way line, when he should have just prevented the forward turning and this set the forward clear with Ben Chapman in pursuit. The Dulwich player produced a rash challenge and Lench coolly converted the resulting penalty.

Dulwich pushed forward but there was to be no fight back and The Hamlet slipped to their first home defeat of the season.

Final Score 2-3
