The scoreline may have slightly flattered the hosts but they eventually ran out comfortable winners.

Dulwich opened the game very slowly and Leatherhead made all the early running with Tom Bradbrook, who was to have a frustrating time in front of goal, heading just wide.

The Hamlet's first chance did not arrive until Dean Lodge was brought down just outside the penalty area on the left and Erhun Oztumer's free kick was headed over by Lewis Gonsalves.

A fine passing move saw Mathieu Boyer and Ian Daly combine but Erhun Oztumer strayed just offside as the ball was fed in to him. Leatherhead then came close as Leroy Griffiths found Tom Bradbrook in the box but Phil Wilson was out at pace to block.

Nyren Clunis then set off on a trademark run down the right and his pass found Mathieu Boyer in the box but his carefully placed shot was blocked and in the next attack Dean Lodge was just unable to control a ball over the top.

Having failed to trouble Ibrahim in the Leatherhead goal for the first 36 minutes it came a s a surprise when the first shot on target brought a goal. Ian Daly received a throw in from the right and advanced a couple of paces before drilling a low shot inside Ibrahim's near post. It was a good strike but one the keeper may feel he should have kept out.

Leatherhead pressed forward again and Griffiths and Bradbrook linked up well but once again Wilson was equal to it, producing another fine block. Leading up to half time Bradbrook once again was sent in on goal but this time after rounding Wilson, Peter Adeniyi got back to block.

Half Time 1-0

Dulwich opened the 2nd half much brighter and Nyren Clunis twice mistimed his runs on to through balls and was flagged offside, whilst Ahmed Deen just failed to find Ian Daly in space.

The game then took its decisive turn after 52 minutes. A superb through ball from Billy Crook, whose influence on the game increased as it progressed, found Dean Lodge in the clear. He did well to hold off Leatherhead's Paul Semakula and advanced in to the box, where a clumsy challenge from Semakula saw Lodge brought down as he bore down on Ibrahim.

The referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot and brandished a red card at the unfortunate Semakula. Erhun Oztumer's perfect penalty beat Ibrahim to his left, kissing the post on its way in.

Billy Crook then came close after great work from Nyren Clunis down the right but Leatherhead still looked dangerous with Griffiths and Bradbrook once again combining but the latter couldn't keep his header down when well placed in the box.

Dulwich conceded a number of free kicks close to the edge of the box and Bradbrook had two further headers that Wilson comfortably saved.

The game was put to bed on 80 minutes as Ian Daly received a ball inside from the right and curled a delightful left foot strike from 20 yards beyond the despairing dive of Ibrahim.

Marcel Henry-Francis then forced a fine stop from the Leatherhead stopper and Abdul Mansaray produced an impressive cameo as a substitute; regularly leaving his full back chasing shadows.

Leatherhead's afternoon was summed up as Darren Smith found himself free in the box but slammed his shot wide of the far post.
